About the Conference

The SBS Design Conference 2026 brings together utility designers and engineers, engineering firm staff, and infrastructure leaders for three days of practitioner-led sessions in Savannah, Georgia.

This is the evolution of PUG and the GSI Design Conference, now combined into a single event for our expanded community. The format stays the same: real projects, honest lessons, and working conversations with peers who do this work every day.

What to Expect

Sessions cover the full range of infrastructure design disciplines:

  • Electric distribution design
  • Gas Design
  • Substation design, including BIM-based substation design
  • Transmission projects
  • Broadband and fiber deployment
  • Renewable energy projects including PV and BESS

Every session is practitioner-led. Speakers walk through what they implemented, what worked, and what they would do differently. The focus is on measurable outcomes: shorter design cycles, stronger standards governance, and better data from concept through as-built.

About SBS

When it comes to critical infrastructure design and development, experience matters.

At SBS, our team’s decades of work in utilities, engineering, and construction form the foundation of everything we build. We’ve been in the field, faced the same design challenges, and created the tools we wish we’d had.

That firsthand experience means our intelligent automation software is shaped by real-world insight — helping utilities and engineering teams design and deliver with greater accuracy, efficiency, and confidence.

Registration Fees

Cancellations received prior to June 30 are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made between July 1 and July 10 are eligible for a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after July 10. However, a registration transfer to another attendee from the same organization may be accommodated upon request.

The SBS Design Conference 2026 Call for Papers period is now underway.

We want to hear from utility professionals, AEC practitioners, and executive leaders in our upcoming conference. To propose a session for the upcoming SBS Design Conference in August.

Results achieved, lessons learned, and what you would do differently.

2. Pain Points & Lessons Learned

Challenges around adoption, change management, business process, organization, and data—and how you navigated them.

3. Transformation Journey & Roadmap

Where you are today relative to your 2–5 year vision, and the major decisions and challenges ahead.

4. Emerging Industry Patterns & Shared Learnings

Common challenges, opportunities, and actions utilities are taking across regulatory, geographic, and organizational contexts.

5. Convergence of Operational Systems, Data, and Workflows

Lessons from integrating systems and data and the resulting operational and design impacts.

6. People, Process, and Culture

Managing change, developing skills, evolving processes, and supporting cultural transformation.

If you’re interested in presenting, please send your name, company name, title, and a short abstract to events@spatialbiz.com.
